π Why Your Figabytes eSIM May Not Be Connecting
Common causes include:
- Figabytes is not set as the mobile data SIM
- Data Roaming is OFF
- APN not added or incorrect
- VPN or firewall blocking the network
- Weak signal in your location
- eSIM installed but not activated yet
- Youβre not in a country included in your plan
- Android radio glitch after installation
Letβs fix it step-by-step.
β Fix 1 β Set Figabytes as Your Main Data SIM
This is the #1 cause of no-connection issues.
- Go to Settings
- Tap Network & Internet or Connections
- Select SIMs
- Set Mobile Data β Figabytes
If another SIM is selected, your phone wonβt use Figabytes for data.
β Fix 2 β Turn ON Data Roaming
Travel eSIMs require roaming; otherwise, data will not work.
- Settings β SIMs
- Select Figabytes
- Turn Data Roaming ON
This alone fixes most connection issues.
β Fix 3 β Turn the eSIM Line OFF β ON
This forces your device to reconnect to the roaming network.
- Settings β SIMs
- Tap Figabytes
- Disable β wait 5 seconds β Enable
- Try browsing again
β Fix 4 β Add the APN Manually
Some Android phones do not auto-load APN settings.
Use the APN provided in your Figabytes order email.
- Go to Settings β Mobile Networks
- Tap Access Point Names (APN)
- Add a new APN
- Enter the Figabytes APN exactly
- Save β Restart phone
- Toggle Airplane Mode ON β OFF
If APN is wrong or missing, mobile data will not activate.
β Fix 5 β Turn Off VPN, Private DNS, or Security Apps
These services can block roaming traffic.
Turn OFF:
- VPN
- Private DNS
- Firewall apps
- Ad-blockers using network filtering
Then test again.
β Fix 6 β Restart Your Phone
Simple, but effective β especially after installation.
- Hold power β Restart
- Turn Airplane Mode ON
- Wait 10 seconds
- Turn Airplane Mode OFF
Try loading a webpage.
β Fix 7 β Check Your Signal Strength
If you have 0β1 bars, the device might be struggling to register.
Try:
- Moving near a window
- Switching between 5G / 4G / LTE
- Toggling Airplane Mode
In many regions, 4G is more stable for data roaming.
β Fix 8 β Check If You Are in a Supported Location
Your Figabytes eSIM will only connect when you are in a country included in your plan.
Examples:
- A Europe plan will not connect in UAE
- A USA plan will not activate in Turkey
You can install early, but connection begins only at destination.
π Fix 9 β Reset Network Settings (Last Resort)
This clears corrupted settings.
- Settings β System
- Tap Reset Options
- Choose Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth
(This will erase saved Wi-Fi networks.)
Reconnect and test again.
π Fix 10 β Check If the Phone Is Carrier Locked
Locked Android phones cannot use travel eSIMs.
Test with another SIM card:
- If it works β unlocked
- If you see βNetwork Lockedβ β locked
Youβll need to request an unlock from your carrier.
β€οΈβπ©Ή Fix 11 β eSIM May Be Corrupted
If:
- Installation was interrupted
- You deleted the eSIM
- The eSIM was previously used or activated
β¦it may no longer function.
