Your Figabytes eSIM may sometimes show signal bars, 4G/LTE, or 5G while websites and apps still can't connect to the internet.
This usually means your eSIM has connected to a mobile network, but something is preventing mobile data from working correctly.
Follow the steps below to identify and fix the issue.
Having signal means your device can detect and connect to a mobile network.
However, mobile data may still not work because of:
First, confirm that the Figabytes eSIM is enabled on your device.
Go to:
Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Figabytes
Make sure Turn On This Line is enabled.
Go to:
Settings → Network & Internet / Connections → SIMs / SIM Manager
Select your Figabytes eSIM and make sure it is turned on.
If you have more than one SIM installed, your phone may still be trying to use your primary SIM for internet access.
Go to:
Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Cellular Data / Mobile Data
Select Figabytes.
Go to:
Settings → Network & Internet / Connections → SIMs / SIM Manager → Mobile Data
Select your Figabytes eSIM.
Figabytes travel eSIMs generally connect through supported partner networks, so Data Roaming needs to be enabled for the Figabytes eSIM.
Go to:
Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Figabytes → Data Roaming
Turn Data Roaming ON.
Open your Figabytes eSIM settings and turn Data Roaming ON.
Make sure you're enabling Data Roaming for the Figabytes eSIM, not your primary home SIM.
If your eSIM was working previously and suddenly stopped, check whether you still have available data.
Sign in to your Figabytes account and open:
My eSIMs
Check:
If your data allowance has been fully consumed, you'll need to top up if your plan supports it or purchase another plan.
If the plan has expired, you'll need a new eSIM plan.
An incorrect or missing APN (Access Point Name) is one of the common reasons an eSIM can show signal but have no internet.
Check the APN information provided with your Figabytes eSIM.
Go to:
Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Figabytes → Cellular Data Network / Mobile Data Network
Enter the APN exactly as provided.
Go to:
Settings → Network & Internet / Connections → Mobile Networks → Access Point Names
Select your Figabytes eSIM and check the APN.
If you were provided with a specific APN:
Leave fields blank unless Figabytes specifically provides values for them.
Refreshing your mobile connection can resolve temporary network registration issues.
If Airplane Mode doesn't help, restart your phone.
After restarting, confirm:
Then try opening a website or app again.
Your device normally selects a supported local network automatically.
If it has connected to a network but mobile data isn't working, try refreshing the network selection.
Go to:
Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Figabytes → Network Selection
Make sure Automatic is enabled.
Go to:
Settings → Mobile Networks → Network Operators
Enable Automatically Select Network.
Wait a few minutes for your device to reconnect.
If automatic network selection isn't working, you can try another supported network.
Turn off Automatic Network Selection and wait for your device to display available networks.
Try another network supported by your Figabytes plan.
Not every network displayed by your phone is necessarily supported by your eSIM.
If you're unsure which network to select, check your Figabytes plan details or contact Figabytes Support.
If you're using a VPN, temporarily turn it off and test your mobile data again.
VPNs and some security or network-filtering apps can occasionally interfere with mobile connectivity.
If your internet starts working after disabling the VPN, the issue may be related to your VPN configuration rather than your Figabytes eSIM.
Make sure you're currently in a country included in your purchased plan.
This is especially important when using:
If you've crossed a border, your previous network may no longer be available.
Your phone may show a network connection, but your Figabytes plan must support the country you're currently visiting.
If your Figabytes eSIM was working normally and then stopped, check:
You can then toggle Airplane Mode or restart your device to refresh the connection.
If your eSIM is installed but mobile data isn't working, do not delete the eSIM as a troubleshooting step.
Figabytes travel eSIM profiles are generally single-use.
Deleting an installed eSIM may prevent you from reinstalling it using the same activation details.
Contact Figabytes Support before deleting your eSIM.
If you've completed the steps above and mobile data still isn't working, contact Figabytes Support.
