If you're using a Figabytes regional or global eSIM, your connection may temporarily stop when you travel from one country to another.
This doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem with your eSIM.
When you cross a border, your device needs to disconnect from the previous mobile network and register with a supported network in the new country. In some cases, this happens automatically within a few minutes. In others, you may need to refresh your connection or manually select a network.
Follow the steps below if your Figabytes eSIM stops working after entering another country.
Before troubleshooting your device, confirm that your Figabytes plan covers the country you've entered.
Regional and global plans support specific destinations.
Sign in to your Figabytes account and check your eSIM plan details to confirm that your current country is included.
If the country isn't included in your plan, you'll need to purchase another Figabytes eSIM that covers your destination.
Your Figabytes eSIM connects to supported local network partners.
When you enter another country, your phone needs to find and register with a new supported network.
Your connection may be temporarily interrupted because:
After entering a new country, give your device a few minutes to search for a supported network.
Your phone may initially display:
This can be temporary while the device registers with a new network.
Check that your Figabytes eSIM is still enabled.
Go to:
Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Figabytes
Make sure Turn On This Line is enabled.
Go to:
Settings → Network & Internet / Connections → SIMs / SIM Manager
Select your Figabytes eSIM and make sure it is turned on.
Crossing a border may sometimes cause your device's SIM settings to change or reconnect differently.
Go to:
Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Cellular Data / Mobile Data
Select Figabytes.
Go to:
Settings → Network & Internet / Connections → SIMs / SIM Manager → Mobile Data
Select your Figabytes eSIM.
Data Roaming should generally remain enabled for your Figabytes travel eSIM.
Go to:
Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Figabytes → Data Roaming
Turn Data Roaming ON.
Open your Figabytes eSIM settings and make sure Data Roaming is turned on.
If you're also using your home SIM, make sure you're changing the roaming setting for Figabytes, not your primary SIM.
This is one of the quickest ways to force your device to search for networks in the new country.
Your phone should begin searching for a supported local network.
If Airplane Mode doesn't restore your connection, restart your phone.
After restarting:
Then test your mobile data again.
Your device should normally select a supported network automatically when you enter a new country.
Go to:
Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Figabytes → Network Selection
Make sure Automatic is enabled.
Go to:
Settings → Mobile Networks → Network Operators
Enable Automatically Select Network.
Give your device a few minutes to search and connect.
If your phone still doesn't connect, try manually selecting a network.
Go to:
Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Figabytes → Network Selection
Turn Automatic off.
Wait for available networks to appear.
Go to:
Settings → Mobile Networks → Network Operators
Turn automatic selection off and search for available networks.
Select a network supported by your Figabytes plan.
Not every network displayed on your device will necessarily work with your Figabytes eSIM.
If you're unsure which network to select, check your plan details or contact Figabytes Support.
If your phone connects to a network but mobile data still doesn't work, check your APN (Access Point Name) settings.
Use the APN information provided with your Figabytes eSIM.
Make sure the APN is entered exactly as provided.
If you've changed your APN while troubleshooting in another country, verify that the correct Figabytes APN is still selected.
No.
If the new country is included in your regional or global plan, you should not need to reinstall your eSIM when crossing borders.
The same Figabytes eSIM should connect to supported networks in the countries included in your plan.
No.
If you're using a regional or global Figabytes plan, you don't need to scan a new QR code every time you enter another supported country.
Your existing eSIM profile remains installed on your device.
Your phone simply connects to a supported local network in the new destination.
No.
Crossing into another country does not normally reset your plan's data allowance.
For example, if you have already used part of your regional plan's data in one country, the remaining allowance continues with you into other supported destinations.
Your plan's existing validity period also continues.
When crossing borders overland, your device may briefly lose service while moving between network coverage areas.
This is normal.
Your phone may need several minutes to:
If it doesn't reconnect automatically, toggle Airplane Mode once you've clearly entered the new country.
After landing:
If your phone doesn't connect, toggle Airplane Mode again or restart your device.
If your Figabytes eSIM worked in the previous country but isn't connecting in the new one, do not delete it.
Deleting the eSIM will not normally solve a network registration issue.
Figabytes travel eSIM profiles are generally single-use, so deleting an installed profile may prevent you from reinstalling it using the same activation details.
If you've confirmed that your current country is included in your plan and your eSIM still won't connect, contact Figabytes Support.
