If you’ve installed your Figabytes eSIM but your iPhone still won’t connect to mobile data or the network, don’t worry — this is one of the most common issues Apple users experience.
The good news: it’s almost always fixable with a few quick steps.
This guide covers the most reliable solutions for iPhone (iOS 15 – iOS 18+).
🔍 Why Your Figabytes eSIM Might Not Connect
Common causes include:
- Data line not set to the Figabytes eSIM
- Data Roaming turned OFF
- Missing or incorrect APN
- Weak signal or network congestion
- Airplane Mode stuck
- VPN or security app blocking mobile data
- eSIM installed but not activated (still “pending”)
- Your destination country isn’t part of your plan
- iOS glitch after installation
Below are the exact steps to fix each situation.
✅ Fix 1 — Set Your Data Line to Figabytes
Your iPhone may still be using your physical SIM for data.
- Go to Settings
- Tap Mobile Data
- Under Mobile Data Line, select Figabytes
If it says “No Connection,” continue with the next steps.
✅ Fix 2 — Turn ON Data Roaming
Travel eSIMs require roaming to function.
- Settings → Mobile Data
- Tap your Figabytes eSIM
- Turn Data Roaming ON
Important:
Your home SIM should keep Data Roaming OFF, otherwise you’ll get roaming charges.
✅ Fix 3 — Turn the Figabytes Line OFF → ON
This forces your iPhone to re-register with the network.
- Settings → Mobile Data
- Tap Figabytes
- Toggle Turn On This Line OFF
- Wait 5 seconds
- Toggle it ON again
✅ Fix 4 — Restart & Refresh Network
A simple reset solves most post-install issues.
- Turn Airplane Mode ON → wait 10 seconds → turn OFF
- Restart your iPhone
- Try loading a webpage again
✅ Fix 5 — Add the APN Manually
If the APN didn’t load automatically, your data will not start.
- Settings → Mobile Data
- Tap Mobile Data Network
- Enter the APN provided in your Figabytes order email
- Scroll down and enter the same APN under Personal Hotspot
- Restart your phone
This step alone fixes 70% of “no data” issues.
✅ Fix 6 — Turn Off VPN / Private Relay / Firewalls
VPNs often block roaming networks.
Turn OFF:
- VPN (Settings → VPN → Off)
- Apple Private Relay
- Third-party security apps
- Ad-blockers with network filters
Then test again.
✅ Fix 7 — Check Your Coverage Location
Your eSIM will not connect until you are physically inside a supported country.
Example:
If you bought a France eSIM and are still in UAE, the eSIM will install but will not connect until you reach France.
✅ Fix 8 — Check Signal / Try Different Network Mode
If signal is weak:
- Stand near a window
- Disable 5G if needed:
Settings → Mobile Data → Figabytes → Voice & Data → 4G - Toggle Airplane Mode again
Sometimes switching from 5G to 4G can restore stable data.
🔄 Fix 9 — Reset Network Settings
Use only if other methods fail.
Settings → General → Transfer or Reset → Reset Network Settings
This removes saved Wi-Fi networks but often fixes stuck eSIM states.
🛑 Fix 10 — Check If Your Device Is Carrier-Locked
iPhones locked to a carrier cannot use travel eSIMs.
Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock
If it says:
- “No SIM restrictions” → ✔️ unlocked
- Anything else → ❌ locked (contact your carrier to unlock)
❤️🩹 Fix 11 — Your eSIM May Be Corrupted
If the installation was interrupted or the eSIM was deleted accidentally, it may be unusable.
In that case:
➡️ Contact Figabytes Support for a replacement eSIM.
🧭 Quick Checklist (Save This!)
To connect successfully, make sure:
- Mobile Data → Figabytes
- Data Roaming ON
- APN added correctly
- VPN OFF
- Device is unlocked
- You are in a supported country
- Airplane Mode toggled
- Phone restarted
If all above are correct, your Figabytes eSIM should connect within seconds.
