Activate your eSIM on iPhone or Android
This guide explains how to activate your Figabytes eSIM on iPhone and Android devices, including how to configure mobile data, enable roaming, and troubleshoot common setup issues.
Before you start
Before activating your eSIM, make sure:
- Your device supports eSIM
- Your phone is carrier-unlocked
- You are connected to stable Wi-Fi
- Your battery is above 30%
- You have your:
- QR code
- Or SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code
We also recommend temporarily disabling VPNs or hotspots during installation.
Important things to know
- Most eSIMs can only be installed on one device at a time
- Deleting an eSIM may require a replacement QR code
- Installing carefully helps avoid activation issues

Option 1: Activate using a QR code
- Open Settings
- Tap Cellular or Mobile Data
- Select Add eSIM or Add Cellular Plan
- Tap Use QR Code
- Scan your Figabytes QR code
- Follow the setup instructions
- Set the Figabytes line as your mobile data line
- Enable Data Roaming if required

If you received manual activation details:
- Open Settings
- Go to Cellular
- Tap Add eSIM
- Select Enter Details Manually
- Enter:
- SM-DP+ Address
- Activation Code
- Confirmation Code if provided

- Open SIM Manager
- Tap Add eSIM
- Select Scan QR code

- Open Settings
- Tap Network & Internet
- Select SIMs
- Tap Add SIM
- Choose Download a SIM instead
- Scan your QR code
- Complete setup and enable roaming if needed
Activate manually on Android
- Open Add eSIM
- Choose:
- Enter activation code
- Or Enter details manually
- Input:
- SM-DP+ Address
- Activation Code
- Confirmation Code if required
- Save and complete activation
APN settings
Most devices automatically configure APN settings.
If mobile data does not work after activation:
On iPhone
- Open Settings
- Tap Cellular
- Select Cellular Data Network
- Enter the APN provided by Figabytes
On Android
- Open Settings
- Go to Mobile Networks
- Open Access Point Names
- Add or edit the APN settings
Leave other fields blank unless instructed otherwise.
How to confirm your eSIM is working
Your eSIM is active if:
- Signal bars appear next to the eSIM line
- Mobile data works with Wi-Fi turned off
- The Figabytes line shows as active in your SIM settings
Common activation issues
Activation failed or no network
Try the following:
- Connect to Wi-Fi
- Restart your phone
- Toggle Airplane Mode on and off
- Ensure Data Roaming is enabled
QR code not scanning
- Increase screen brightness
- Print the QR code if needed
- Request a replacement QR code if expired
No internet after installation
- Confirm Figabytes is selected for mobile data
- Add the APN manually
- Disable VPN services temporarily
- Restart the device
eSIM already in use
Most eSIM profiles can only be installed once. You may need a replacement QR code.
Moving your eSIM to a new phone
iPhone to iPhone
You may be able to use eSIM Quick Transfer if supported.
Android or cross-platform transfer
In most cases, you will need a new QR code to activate the eSIM on another device.
Do not remove the old eSIM until the new device is working correctly.
Remove or disable your eSIM

Settings → Cellular → Select eSIM → Delete eSIM
Android
Settings → SIM Manager → Select eSIM → Remove
Deleting an eSIM may permanently deactivate it.
Temporarily disable the eSIM
You can switch the eSIM off temporarily instead of deleting it.
