Install your eSIM directly without using a QR code
If you do not have access to a QR code or prefer direct setup, you can install your Figabytes eSIM manually using the activation details provided with your order.
Manual installation allows you to enter the eSIM information directly from your device settings on both iPhone and Android devices.
Before starting, make sure your device supports eSIM, is carrier-unlocked, and connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.
Before you start
Please confirm the following before installation:
- Your device supports eSIM
- Your device is unlocked
- You are connected to reliable Wi-Fi
- Your device software is updated
- You have your Figabytes activation details ready
You will typically need:
- SM-DP+ Address
- Activation Code
Manual eSIM installation on iPhone
Step 1: Open Settings
Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Go to Mobile Data
Tap Mobile Data or Cellular, depending on your iOS version.
Step 3: Add an eSIM
Select:
- Add eSIM
- Or Add Cellular Plan
Step 4: Choose manual setup
Select:
- Enter Details Manually
Step 5: Enter your activation details
Enter the details provided by Figabytes:
- SM-DP+ Address
- Activation Code
Make sure all information is entered exactly as provided.
Step 6: Download and install the eSIM
Tap Next or Continue.
Your iPhone will begin downloading and installing the eSIM profile.
Keep your device connected to Wi-Fi until installation is complete.
Manual eSIM installation on Android
Menu names may vary depending on your Android device brand.
Step 1: Open Settings
Open Settings on your Android device.
Step 2: Open SIM settings
Go to one of the following:
- Network & Internet
- Connections
- SIM Manager
- Mobile Networks
Step 3: Add an eSIM
Tap:
- Add eSIM
- Add mobile plan
- Or SIM Manager
Step 4: Choose manual setup
Select:
- Enter activation details manually
- Or Enter activation code
Step 5: Enter your activation details
Enter the information provided by Figabytes:
- SM-DP+ Address
- Activation Code
Then save and continue.
Step 6: Install the eSIM
Your Android device will begin downloading the eSIM profile.
Keep the device connected to Wi-Fi until installation is complete.
Label your eSIM
After installation, your device may ask you to assign a label to the eSIM.
Recommended labels include:
- Figabytes Travel
- Figabytes Data
Labels help identify the eSIM more easily when using multiple SIMs.
Leave the eSIM turned off until needed
If you are installing the eSIM before traveling:
- Keep the Figabytes eSIM turned off
- Enable it only after arriving at your destination
This helps prevent early activation on certain plans.
How to activate your eSIM after arrival
On iPhone
- Open Settings
- Go to Mobile Data
- Turn on the Figabytes eSIM
- Enable Data Roaming
- Set Figabytes as your mobile data line
On Android
- Open Settings
- Go to SIMs, SIM Manager, or Mobile Networks
- Turn on the Figabytes eSIM
- Enable Mobile Data
- Turn on Data Roaming
- Set Figabytes as the preferred mobile data SIM
Your device should connect to a local network within a few minutes.
If installation does not work
If you experience installation issues:
- Double-check your activation details
- Confirm your Wi-Fi connection is stable
- Restart your device and try again
- Make sure your device is unlocked
- Ensure your software is up to date
If the issue continues, additional troubleshooting may be required.
Important information
- Activation details are usually single-use
- Do not delete the eSIM after installation unless instructed
- Removing the eSIM may require a replacement profile
- Installation and activation are separate steps
