Figabytes eSIM Installation Troubleshooting Guide (Quick Fixes for iPhone & Android)

Installing your Figabytes eSIM should take only a few minutes. But if something doesn’t work right away—don’t worry. Most issues are simple to fix. This guide walks you through the most common activation problems and how to resolve them quickly on iPhone and Android.

Before You Start: Quick Requirements

Make sure:

  • Your device supports eSIM

  • Your device is unlocked

  • You have a stable Wi-Fi connection

  • You’re using the correct QR code or activation details

  • Your Figabytes plan is not expired or already activated

If all the above looks good, continue below.

🔧 Common Installation Issues & How to Fix Them

1) My eSIM won’t install / QR code not scanning

Possible reasons:

  • Poor internet connection

  • Camera can’t read the code

  • QR code printed/displayed too small or blurry

Fixes:

  • Increase screen brightness or zoom in on the QR code

  • Clean your camera lens

  • Try another device to display the QR code

  • Switch to Manual Installation:

    • iPhone:
Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Enter Details Manually

    • Android:
Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add eSIM → Enter Activation Code

2) “Unable to Activate” or “Activation Failed”

What it means:

Your phone downloaded the eSIM, but it couldn’t connect to the network to activate it.

Fixes:

  • Restart your device

  • Turn Airplane Mode ON, then OFF

  • Ensure Wi-Fi is ON

  • Make sure your home SIM’s data roaming is OFF

  • Enable Data Roaming on the Figabytes line (important for travel plans)

3) No Signal After Installation

Possible causes:

  • You’re not in a country covered by your plan

  • Your device hasn’t connected to the right network yet

Fixes:

  • Make sure you’re physically in a covered destination

  • Go to the Figabytes line settings and toggle:

    • Turn This Line Off → On

  • Restart your phone

  • Remove any active VPN

4) eSIM Installed, But No Mobile Data Working

This is the most common issue.

Fixes:

(A) Set the correct data SIM

  • iPhone:
Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → Select Figabytes

  • Android:
    Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Mobile Data → Figabytes

(B) Turn ON Data Roaming (Figabytes line only)

  • iPhone:
Settings → Cellular → Figabytes → Data Roaming ON

  • Android:
Settings → SIMs → Figabytes → Data Roaming ON

(C) Add the APN manually

If data still doesn’t start:

  • Find the APN in your Figabytes order details

  • Enter it manually:

iPhone:
Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Network → APN

Android:
Settings → Mobile Networks → Access Point Names → Add APN

Save → Restart phone.

5) “eSIM already in use” error

This happens if:

  • You already installed the eSIM on another device

  • You reset your phone

  • You deleted the eSIM and tried reinstalling it

Fix:

Most eSIMs are single-use. Contact Figabytes Support to request a replacement eSIM.

6) iMessage / WhatsApp / FaceTime Issues After Installing eSIM

Fixes:

  • iMessage & FaceTime:
Settings → Messages / FaceTime → Set your primary line

  • WhatsApp:
Your WhatsApp number stays the same unless you change it manually.

🧪 If You’re Still Having Issues

Try the universal reset:

  1. Turn Off both lines

  2. Restart your device

  3. Turn On only the Figabytes eSIM

  4. Wait 1 minute

  5. Test mobile data
