Can You Move Your Figabytes eSIM to Another Phone? Here’s What You Need to Know

Can You Move Your Figabytes eSIM to Another Phone? Here’s What You Need to Know

If you’re upgrading your phone or switching devices, you may wonder whether your Figabytes eSIM can be transferred to the new device. The answer depends on how your specific eSIM was issued and how the new phone handles eSIM transfers.

Below is everything you need to know.

🔄 Can a Figabytes eSIM Be Moved to Another Device?

In most cases, travel eSIMs cannot be moved once they have been installed on a device.

Here’s why:

  • Travel eSIMs are usually single-use profiles

  • Once downloaded, the eSIM is locked to the device where it was activated

  • Removing or deleting the eSIM from your phone typically means it cannot be reinstalled

This applies to most iPhone, Samsung, Pixel, and Android devices using travel eSIMs.

📌 However — Figabytes Can Issue a Replacement

If you’ve changed your phone, lost your device, or accidentally deleted the eSIM:

➡️ You can request a replacement eSIM from Figabytes Support.

We will review your order and provide a new activation profile when eligible.

📱 What About eSIM Transfer Tools on iPhone & Android?

iPhone’s “Transfer eSIM” Feature

Recent iPhones support eSIM transfer for some carrier-issued SIMs.

However:

  • Travel eSIMs (including Figabytes) do not support Apple’s device-to-device transfer

  • You cannot use “Convert to eSIM” or “Transfer from Nearby iPhone” for Figabytes profiles

Android’s eSIM Transfer

Android 14+ added an eSIM transfer tool, but it also applies only to carrier eSIMs, not prepaid travel eSIMs.

🚫 If You Delete Your Figabytes eSIM

Deleting the eSIM removes the profile from the phone and:

  • It cannot be recovered

  • It cannot be downloaded again

  • It cannot be restored from iCloud/Google backups

You’ll need a replacement from Figabytes.

🌍 Why Travel eSIMs Work This Way

Travel eSIMs are structured differently from carrier eSIMs:

  • Each profile has a one-time installation key

  • That key becomes invalid after the first activation

  • It protects the system from unauthorized copying or multiple device use

This ensures fair use and security across global mobile networks.

💬 When You Can Move a Figabytes eSIM

You can move it only if you haven’t installed it yet.

Before installation:

  • The eSIM can be activated on any compatible phone

  • Once installed, it becomes locked to that specific device

So if you switch phones before installing your Figabytes eSIM, you’re safe to proceed.
